WHAT IS THE FRIENDSHIP CARAVAN?

Celebrating 50+ Years of Culture, Music, and Connection:

The Tzofim Friendship Caravan is a dynamic cultural exchange program, operated by Tzofim North America and supported by the Jewish National Fund (JNF-USA).

Since 1973, the Caravan has brought the spirit of Israel to life through music, dance, and personal connection, as groups of Israeli teens travel across North America each summer. Over the course of two months, the Caravan visits more than 100 Jewish communities, performing for audiences of all ages and fostering meaningful bonds between Israeli and North American Jews.

More than just a performance, the Friendship Caravan spreads a message of hope, unity, and peace — building bridges through shared experiences and celebrating the vibrant culture and values of Israel.

Where are Caravan members from and how old are they?

Caravan participants come from Tzofim chapters across Israel, representing the diversity of Israeli society.
All members are rising high school seniors. 

Who Is in the Caravan?

Each Caravan includes:
10 Israeli teens (five girls and five boys)
2 trained leaders

What’s is the selection process for Caravan members? 

Caravan participants must be fluent in English, talented performers, and strong leaders. After several rounds of auditions and interviews, the group spends a full year training and rehearsing before their summer in North America.

Do Caravan members stay with host families?

Yes! Home hospitality is a cherished part of the program. Hosting creates meaningful personal connections and is often a highlight for both families and performers. If hosting is not possible, alternative arrangements will be made.

Do I need a professional performance space or sound system?
No. The Caravan brings its own sound and video equipment.
We only need an indoor space with access to electricity.
