Tomer is originally from Kiryat-Ono, a city near Tel Aviv.

Tomer served 8 years in the army, in different HR roles. His last post as a Major was at the personnel directorate. Tomer earned his BA in Social Sciences from Bar-Ilan University and his MBA in Real-Estate from Reichman University (IDC). 

Before moving to New York with his wife Noy, Tomer worked at the Israeli Scouts for two years as Hanhagat Dror regional manager, while living in Ramat-Gan.
