Eilat Adventure by Gabe
On Sunday we (CVK) traveled from Mash’Abei Sadeh kibbutz to Eilat. The fun started right away as we were singing and dancing the whole way there. Once we got to Eilat we did an activity where we had to recreate a moment in Israeli history where Israel recaptured Eilat. We had to make an Israeli flag and put it on top of a flagpole. It really made me think about the battle that happened here and of the soldiers that risked their lives for Israel.
A little while later we drove to the Red Sea and went snorkeling. This was a great experience for me because I had never went snorkeling before. It was so cool to see all the corals and fish living in their natural habitat instead of something like an aquarium. The view across the Red Sea was beautiful. Right across the Red Sea is Jordan and you could see the Eilat equivalent Aqaba.
After snorkeling, we went back to our hostel and got ready for a night of free time in Eilat. The free time was amazing. There was so much to do on the boardwalk and I had so much fun. Me and a few friends went into this scary maze and it was one of the scariest things I’ve ever done in my life. Every couple seconds something would jump out at you whether it was a clown or some guy in a Jason mask. My friends and I were screaming the whole time, but we all loved it. After we got out of the maze we met up with the whole CVK and did a couple group activities. The group activities are very interesting because you talk about deep things with people you wouldn’t usually talk to about stuff like that.
Throughout this first week I’ve learned to trust the people here and after this first amazing week, I can’t wait for the rest.
